Chambersburg Community Theatre (CCT), established in 1954, is one of the oldest continually-operating community theatre groups in Pennsylvania. It has produced more than 150 shows including dramas and comedies, mysteries and musicals, all-time favorites, and first-time originals. Cumberland Valley School of Music, Chambersburg PA, a non-profit organization founded in 1990, believes music can enrich everyone's life, and does so through its lessons and classes, performances, community events, and outreach efforts. It offers lessons and classes at five locations: Wilson College in Chambersburg, two locations in Waynesboro, one in Mercersburg (all in PA), and in Hagerstown, MD. Nearly 600 students are enrolled in the school in a given year, served by over 50 faculty members. Camps have also been taught in collaboration with many local organizations in the local area. CVSM teaches all orchestral and band instruments, voice, theatrical techniques, Suzuki piano and violin, and has numerous classes and workshops for all ages.
The school is located on the 2nd floor of Thomson Hall on the Wilson College campus, 1015 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg PA 17201. Maryland Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1982, is located at 30 W. Washington St. in downtown Hagerstown MD. Performances are most often held in the Maryland Theatre, located at 21-27 S.
