High Rock MD -- Scenic Views

High Rock MD is located 1-1/2 miles north of Pen Mar Park on Pen Mar Rd, about 6-1/2 miles from Waynesboro.  Up until the attacks of 9/11, High Rock was a launch site for hang gliding enthusiasts.  Its elevation is 1,900 ft.  Today, High Rock is primarily a scenic area frequented by visitors from the area and Pen Mar Park, and hikers from the nearby Appalachian Trail.
