Pine Hill
Regional Recreational Park
Pine Hill Recreation Park, just outside Waynesboro, is a 174-acre recreation area with a variety of recreational activities for residents and visitors, owned and operated by Washington Township. The park contains seven hiking/biking trails which total 3.04 miles. From the trails you can overlook portions of the township and watch the sunset. A pony league baseball field, softball/little league field, and a soccer field are in place for use by local youth leagues and visitors. There are two state-of-the-art playgrounds, horseshoe pits, and a sand volleyball court. The Dunlap Family Skatepark for skateboarders and rollerbladers is now open--more information about the skate park and Pine Hill is available at the Washington Township website.
Located in the southeast corner of Franklin County, the park abuts Red Run Park, and is just a stone's throw away from Michaux State Forest.
Directions: from downtown Center Square take PA Rte 16 East (Main St.) to Rouzerville. Once through Rouzerville you will start to head up the mountain. Make a left on Beartown Rd. At the yield sign (no longer a stop sign), make a left onto Mentzer Gap Rd. The park entrance is 0.2 miles on your left. The address is 12684 Mentzer Gap Rd.
